UPDATE: The State Board of Elections revised up the Thursday number from 99,000 to 112,000, so I've revised this earlier post that said 99,000.
Early voting opened in North Carolina Thursday, and 112,901 voters cast ballots at the 299 sites open. This compares with 30,030 who voted the first day of early voting in 2004.
For 2008, here is a breakdown by race:
Black 35.9%
White 60.5%
Asian 0.5%
Native American 0.3%
Other* 2.6%
